Owner & Trainer | Shields K9 Services
For me, dog training has never been about simply teaching commands. It’s about building communication, creating understanding, and developing a relationship between dog and handler that holds up when it actually matters.
My experience spans military working dogs, working dogs, and companion dogs across multiple breeds, temperaments, and training disciplines. Throughout my career, I’ve served as a Military Working Dog Handler, Trainer, Lead Trainer, and Kennel Master, developing both dogs and handlers in obedience, detection, patrol work, problem solving, and real-world operational environments.
That experience taught me one of the most important lessons I bring to Shields K9 Services: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to dog training. Every dog learns differently, every handler communicates differently, and effective training means understanding the team in front of you.
My Training Philosophy
Clarity. Consistency. Control.
A dog can’t reliably perform something it doesn’t clearly understand. My goal is to create that understanding first, then build reliability through fair, consistent training that owners can continue long after their program ends.
